Welcome to the web site of
Martin Knöll, architect and PhD student in
architectural theory at University of Stuttgart. I work and conduct research in
the fields of architectural and urban design, with a focus on health orientated
planning. My current research interests include digital games and interactive
media seeking to encourage health related behaviour change. As an urban
researcher I interrogate how the knowledge about urbanism, urban design and
architectural theory may contribute to improve effectiveness and play
experience of digital health games. At the Lansdown Centre for Electronic Arts in London, I am dealing with the design
and analysis of playful, locative media applications. What I aim to describe as Urban Health Games is being conceptualized
in my writings and is being tested in prototypes. I am happy to share my most
recent publications and on going research projects with you on this web site.
